Craig BACK at the beach ? ? , with another review!

They are back open for the season Canal View Cafe and we are so excited to have a place that brings us memories of summer (our comfort food) and that summer is almost here. Sunday around 2:00 pm. Service started with Mindy but change of shift and Scottie took over with both providing excellent & friendly service.

Non-rushed service, enjoying the appetizers of our favorites ? ? ? – their breaded chicken wings with their house dressing and their Utica Greens, potato & sausage – sorry to other restaurants – still our favorite and the best greens in CNY.

Sunday special was their Pork Dinner with carrots & stuffing and I am NOT a mashed potato person so their fantastic French fries was served in place with Italian wedding soup – served hot and tasted good for me.

Note: I am always concerned about ordering pork dinners with gravy & stuffing in a restaurant since I normally get my favorite entrée here –Andy’s Italian Plate – but I went out of my norm for the Canal View and wasn’t disappointed. French fries were crisp – cooked perfectly and with the pork gravy even better. Pork was tender and the stuffing & gravy tasted great. short strapless prom dresses ? ? With the two starters we have leftovers of all for another meal or two at home.

Spouse ordered her favorite entrée meal - Chicken Caprese - Chicken with greens in a light tomato wine sauce over angel hair. Again portion size was large – leftovers for another dinner. Tasted fantastic. Crisp and fresh Salad included with house dressing. Normally she orders – Chicken and greens sandwich…

Again no room for dessert and they offer a nice craft beer selection.

If in the area of Sylvan Beach - Winter or summer make sure you put Canal View on your radar – nice lake view – ice fishing & snowmobiles in the winter or boats along the canal and on the lake in the summer.
